Wonderful people work very hard to make this pediatric office a special place for kids.
Our office is often described as personable, friendly and fun. A true pediatric office, not a hand me down from the adult world, it’s ample, comfortable, safe & inviting. All examining rooms are flooded with natural light. Have you had to wait with children in a small room with no windows?
Ours is a multicultural office. We are fluent in 2 foreign languages, Portuguese & Spanish, languages we also grew up speaking with our family and friends.
Medicine is a biological science. We believe Math is the basis of all biological sciences, and statistics and experiments the foundations upon which modern medicine stands ("evidence-based medicine"). Since biological sciences are fundamentally experimental and not “logical", what sounds “right” is not necessarily what’s “best". Biology does not always conform to what seems “logical"…
Pediatric care, however, is much more than that, it’s a human endeavor. It must be practiced with passion. Passion for the science but, most importantly, for the families and their spiritual well being. It requires honesty and experience, as in prescribing only when needed, and always being straightforward with kids. In the end, we are back to the ancient credo: First, do no harm.
